Hello! I’m Ms. Soto and I am excited to be your child’s teacher this year!  This will be my first year teaching and I’m grateful to be teaching 2nd grade Dual Language here at Old Town Elementary.  I am beyond exited to start this new journey of mine along the side of my amazing students.  This is going to be an incredible fun filled year of learning for the students! 

 

I attended the University of Texas at San Antonio (Go Runners!) where I received my Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Bilingual Education.  I do not have any children of my own, but I do have 5 nephews and 2 nieces who I absolutely love and adore!  Outside of school I love staying active by playing sports (soccer & volleyball) with my nieces and nephews.  I also enjoy lifting weights, running, baking, watching movies, and spending quality time with family and friends.

 

Bilingual Education is important to me because I myself had the opportunity to go through the Bilingual programs as a child and it shaped me into the person I am today.  I love seeing students learn to speak, read, and write in more than one language.  Students have the opportunity to embrace who they are and where they come from, but at the same time they are growing academically.
